Kirrit Barreet Art Gallery exhibits high quality local and regional contemporary and traditional Victorian Aboriginal art and craft. The centre is dedicated to promoting Koorie art and artist and the preservation of Koorie culture through art. The gallery allows emerging and established artist to exhibit their work and to provide an income though the sale of their art.
Our arts development program is an on going program that encourages artist to exhibit their work and to earn an income from their work while learning the skills involved in organinsing an exhibition.
At Kirrit Barreet we have a resident artist, Billy Blackall. Billy Blackall is a Yorta Yorta man and is an extremely talented artist. His work is on permanent display and for sale. Billy is available most days to discuss his work.
At Kirrit Barreet we launch six exhibitions per year. Each exhibition differs greatly and profiles the diversity and vibrancy of Koorie art and culture.

1967 Referendum Exhibition - acknowledging the anniversary of the 1967 referendum. this will be a historical exhbition featuring art works and newspaper articles from the era. Opens May 27.
